Terms of Service

1. The service

YourPlotline ("the service", at yourplotline.com, the app at app.yourplotline.com) is a reading platform for AI-assisted choose-your-path novels: a free shared catalog plus credit-priced personal features — off-plot forks, personal endings, commissioned stories, and exported editions. YourPlotline is operated by Lyramic (the Netherlands).

2. Accounts and invites

During the invite phase, registration needs an invite code and an account is for one person. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us at [email protected] if you think your account is compromised. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and some stories carry an age rating you must attest to before reading them.

3. Plans, billing, and the invite phase

Free accounts are free indefinitely and include a monthly credit allotment. Paid plans (Reader at €7.99/month, Explorer at €14.99/month) add larger monthly allotments and roomier limits; they bill monthly, renew automatically, and can be cancelled any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, after which the account continues as a Free account. During the invite phase paid plans may be arranged directly with us; when self-serve billing is open it runs through Stripe. We may change public pricing; we'll announce changes before they bill you.

4. Credits

Credits (⬡) are the service's internal metering unit for personal features. Allotments refill monthly and don't accumulate across months beyond your balance; credits have no cash value, aren't transferable, and lapse when your account closes. Priced operations reserve credits first and reconcile to the flat listed price; failed or refused operations are refunded in full, automatically. Where a purchase is delivered immediately at your request, you agree the delivery begins at once; statutory rights that can't be waived are unaffected.

5. Your content and your paths

What's personal stays personal: your playthroughs, off-plot forks, personal endings, commissioned stories, and exported editions are private to your account by default. Exported editions are yours to keep and read, on any device, forever. Commission briefs and intake conversations are your content; you grant us the license needed to store and process them to run the service, and nothing more.

Submitting a fork corridor for promotion is optional and is a license to publish: an approved corridor becomes part of the shared canon, free for every reader, with attribution shown as you chose at submission. Promotion rewards are credits, not royalties.

6. Our content

The catalog — its stories, worlds, spines, and this site — belongs to Lyramic. Your access to canon content is for reading inside the service and inside your exported editions. It doesn't grant redistribution: no scraping, bulk export, resale, or republishing of stories or the catalog, during or after your account.

7. Acceptable use

Don't break, probe, or overload the service; don't share accounts or circumvent metering; don't use free-text surfaces (commission briefs, intake chat) to request unlawful content. Commission briefs pass a moderation gate before anything is written, and a refusal refunds in full. We can suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, with a warning where that's reasonable.

8. AI output

Stories and story branches are generated by AI models constrained by validators, and can still be imperfect, surprising, or unsuitable. Fiction on the service is fiction: it isn't advice, and depictions aren't endorsements. Age-rated stories are gated; the gate is part of the deal.

9. Availability and changes

YourPlotline is a young service run with care but without an SLA: features may change, and maintenance happens. If we ever discontinue the service we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your editions and personal stories.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.

11. The paperwork

Dutch law governs these terms, and Dutch courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live. If a clause turns out invalid, the rest stands. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in the app before they take effect.
